Originally by: Breytli Woelin Took a month off from lvl 4 kill missions with the hope that CCP would fix the insta agro on drones from new waves in lvl 4s. A month later, doing Rogue Drone Harassment, I see CCP hasn't done a thing. In other words, it's still Caldari Online.
Let me identify the problem before people start flaming me: when a new wave of rats is triggered in lvl 4s kill missions, some or most of the rats will agro on any drones you have out, regardless of whether or not the drones attack them. In Rogue Drone, for instance, I cleared a wave, recalled my drones to orbit, then attacked the mothership to trigger the next wave. The drones at no point attacked the mothership any time during the mission until the final wave had spawned (at which point I took out the mothership with wardens, then cleared the last wave). Half of each new wave agroed on me, half on my orbitting (not fighting) drones. Same thing as happened in most of the changed lvl 4s before I took the month off.
So, do we know if CCP is going to keep things the way they are (basically screwing dominix and other drone users), or have people figured out a way to keep the drones out without them getting agro with each new wave?
Again, I want to stress that the agro on drones happens REGARDLESS of whether or not the drones are attacking or orbiting. If you have drones out when a new wave is triggered, some of the new wave will agro on the drones until you recall the drones.
If CCP intends to do nothing, well, how about a 30-120 second delay for missile users before they can use their missiles, when a new wave spawns? That's essentially what the current setup does for drone users.
With my Gallente character I just reel them in. I know it's a pain. Much harder work than the Raven pilot. But then, I also put 2 or 3 425's on my Domi and find that shooting helps... Phoenix Logistics Industries |

Originally by: NIkis Drones don't come in limited amounts tho, if you take care of them they last you thru hundreds of missions. A better suggestion would be to improve drone AI/behavior instead of trying to nerf the already poor missiles. If you keep on this nerfing line, make sure you suggest a 30-120 second delay for turrets users too, just to keep an even playground
What she said. Better to fix the drone "locking" problem and, perhaps give us some better controls, such as "auto targeting/require manual targeting" options for our drones. Phoenix Logistics Industries |
